Comedians Use Twitter to Piss on Zucker's Grave
Jeff Zucker's firing took place in slo-mo over a Bach fugue, while Conan was getting his kid christened.
Have you heard? NBC's Jeff Zucker, the man responsible for Joey and the Conan debacle, is getting the boot when this Cablevision/NBC deal goes through. Ding, dong the witch is dead! So, of course, all sorts of people took to Twitter today to give him a proper send-off. Here are some of my favorites. That first one up top is from Conan writer Rob Kutner. Here are some more:
Here are two from Daily Show writer Tim Carvell:
Great news! I just got my tickets for Jeff Zucker's "Legally Prohibited From Running a TV Network" Tour!
(To be fair, I understand that Zucker was given the option of keeping his job, if he was willing to move back his start time to 12:05 AM.)
Here are two from Modern Family writer/producer Danny Zuker:
Jeff Zucker weighing options. He's had many offers but not sure which company he will destroy next.
Jeff Zucker leaving NBC to search Middle earth for his "precious." #heisatinyevilman
Of course, Conan's band leader La Bamba had to get in on it:
Jeff Zucker announced that he will step down from CEO of NBC U. Jeff, since you're unemployed, we can swap stories of why we lost our jobs.
Former Simpsons writer/producer Bill Oakley:
Adios to NBC's Zucker, finally! The year after he had Conan arrested in college, he tried to get me kicked out: http://twitpic.com/2rjoz3
