Stephen Colbert Is Testifying Before Congress Right Now


Above is a live video of Stephen Colbert testifying in character before a house subcommittee in character. It is ridiculous. He is actually saying things like "I was a corn packer, and I don't want to offend anyone as I know that's a derogatory term for a gay Iowan" to congressmen and women.     Man, that intro is a perfect example of why I don't like Colbert as much as Stewart – too many easy "I see what you did there" jokes.

    I'm not really sure why this is happening or who is in on the joke. I didn't know people could testify before the House in character. You think that same privilege extends to the Senate?
