Harold Ramis Talks Ghostbusters 3

Here's a section of an interview Making Of did with Harold Ramis last year but just released now for some reason. In it, he discusses their approach to Ghostbusters 3, where the project was at the time, an earlier script that Dan Aykroyd wrote that sent the Ghostbusters to hell, and the special effects in the original movies.

I'm starting to think GB3 will never happen. Every three months, someone says something different: "It's on… it's off… we have a script… there's no script… etc." While I enjoy The Office, the two writers Ramis mentions also wrote Year One which I thought was awful – Ramis trying to prove his "hipness" to the Apatow gang (or at least, that's how I perceived it).

I'd love to see Aykroyd's "Ghostbusters in Hell" script one of these days and, in fact, a guy who blogs for an architecture website once came up with his own GB3 story involving the old NY phone company. You can check it out here: http://bldgblog.blogspot.com/2009/06/nynex-embedded-angel-of-new-york-city.html

    Kinda trippy!
