    I can't really see how anyone could argue with this. I just wish it were more than a list. Plus, I feel like Lee and Crudup did a decent enough job to not even be on the list but then again I can't think of another movie with musicians in it. Oh, wait. Matt Dillon in Singles. I think he's a solid 10th. Or how about The Time in Graffiti Bridge? Just kidding.

    apalling list! Jason Lee is unreal in Almost Famous. He gets people off!. And Chaz (Brendan Fraiser) wipes his ass with his record contract. How could that be anything but "pulling off playing a musician."

    In what way does Michael J Fox not "pull off playing a musician" in "Light of Day"?
    .
    He's actually playing up there, even if another band is overdubbed; he was the lead guitarist in a band before he sold his Strat to raise money to head off to Hollywood.

    The REST of the movie (aside from JJ) doesn't really work, but Fox is decent.

    Mark Whalberg was pretty decent in Rock Star. The three girls did most of their own music in Josie and The Pussycats. Does Antonio Banderas do his own playing in El Mariachi?
