New Girl Pulls In Big Ratings, Beats Even Glee

Despite releasing the New Girl pilot on iTunes last week (seriously, does anyone have any insight as to why they did that?), Fox's Zooey Deschanel vehicle pulled down 10.1 million viewers last night, even more so than lead-in program Glee. Which is ironic, since in real life being the New Girl and a part of Glee means you get your ass handed to you by the eighth grade girls behind the middle school. Ladies, you feel me?

I was one of those 10.1 million, though I'm not sure I'll be back next week, considering my favorite character definitely will not be back next week. It wasn't a total loss, though, since I watched Raising Hope for the first time since I was already watching Fox, and that was a total fucking revelation.

It was surprisingly more endearing that I expected. I'm curious what they'll do with the Coach character.

The Coach character won't be back. Also, I'm glad they put it on iTunes. I don't have cable and wanted to check the show out. Glad I did. I thought it was decent, nothing real great. But that doesn't mean the show can't be good. I hope it gets better and better as the characters start finding themselves. But I thought some of the stuff was cheesy, like the guy roommate who will clearly fall in love with her.
