Patton Oswalt's Best Argument Against Gay Marriage

Here's an exclusive track from Patton Oswalt's upcoming album Finest Hour, which drops next Tuesday. In it, he talks about the only good argument against gay marriage. I could ruin the bit by describing it to you, but it's probably best for all involved if you just listen to the above stream, yeah?

"I'm glad you like a book." Yes!

That's a solid bit, but my only problem is that the Bible doesn't actually say "Gay people can't get married" or "Only a man and a woman can get married."
Dumb people who claim to be Christian, but are really just bigots using religion as something to hide behind, have given Patton and everyone else the wrong impression about what is in the Bible on a slew of topics.
So a better response to the argument "Cause the Bible says…" is "No it doesn't." Because it doesn't. It just really bothers me that Christians have been defined as holding view points that aren't actually Biblical. And that's entirely the fault of morons with picket signs who say they're Christians. But everyone else shouldn't take their word for it. They're obviously crazy.
