Dan Harmon Wants Bill Murray To Play Jeff's Dad on Community

Community fans wondering why the show hasn't yet shown Jeff's dad have their answer. Dan Harmon admits in this interview that he's been pushing back that storyline "in the hope that some miracle will happen" and Bill Murray will deign to play the role. I guess the whole Chevy Chase-Bill Murray feud makes this casting pretty improbable, but man, how great would that be?

Harmon goes on to talk about possible spinoffs and plotlines once the characters have graduated from Greendale, as well as his respect for obsessive online viewers of the show. "I do try many times a season to put Alison [Brie] in a situation, wardrobe-wise, that I know is going to end up as an animated GIF file," he says. Harmon, you sneaky genius.

At first it was fun and kind of clever the subtle ways that Annie was sexualized. Now, even as the character gets older, I feel sometimes like I did watching Sucker Punch: I know too much about what turns on the director/showrunner.

I think the Bill Murray/Chevy Chase feud has simmered down since the 70s/80s. They seemed pretty cool with each other when Chevy cameoed in that Caddyshack quotes sketch from that Bill Murray-hosted SNL episode back in the late 90s.

I love Community, but I think trying to figure out storylines beyond a fourth season is going to be a bit unnecessary.
