Paul Brittain Is Leaving SNL, Effective Immediately

Paul Brittain is leaving the cast of SNL after a year and a half. Brittain was one of the featured players with the fewest recurring characters and starring roles, so the parting of ways makes sense, but it's still sad to see him go. Au revoir, Marius of Les Jeunes de Paris. Farewell, "Sex" Ed Vincent. You will dance on in our hearts, and give awkward sex demonstrations with your fingers in our hearts, respectively.

Goodnight, sweet Wyndemere.

Aw, I'm gonna miss that little Lord Windemere.

@jduncanhansen@twitter.com So say we all, so say we all. Gonna miss you little guy

"Sex Ed" Vincent and Lord Wyndemere are two of the best recurring bits they've had in the past couple of years. And he had a couple of wonderful impressions. It's frustrating that he never got a chance to really shine on the show. Was this his choice or Lorne's?

A sad day indeed, though unfortunately not surprising when you consider the high turnover for featured players. Brittain is a true talent and will be missed.

When he first came on at the beginning of last season, it seemed as though he was going to be a bigger player, but as the season rolled on, he showed up less and less. Too bad, he had some good impressions, but looked as though he could do the other roles as well. I think that as Killam blew up, there was just less stuff for him to do.

Solid dude. I wish him future success. What little he had to do on SNL I enjoyed. Everything everyone has mentioned so far (Sex Ed/Little Lord) and I don't know if I'm remembering right but was he the news anchor in the queen's knights versus dragons sketch with Sir Elton John that said the dragons were defeated by being jizzed on by Sting? If so, that's how I want to remember him.

    Aw man! Bummer. :-/

I'd just like to say that my wifi network's name is "funky boy" and now I will never, ever change it.

Can't forget his great Ron Paul impression.

@Luke Charles Pohjala@twitter I agree I would have much rather seen Paul Brittain do a non-topical Ron Paul cold open than any of the countless average political ones that make sense news wise.

Don't forget about Goran "Funky Boy" Bogdan from the Original Kings of Catch-Phrase Comedy skits – thought that character was hysterical.

  • Brian Boone

The commercial for Mother's Day cards for crazy people who think they're their own mothers! Lord Wyndemere! Two of the best bits in years! Certainly this will anger the vengeful ghost of Bob Newhart.

  • Ava Adore

I'm really sad to see him go.

Damn!! I LOVED his Ron Paul.
