Anchorman 2 to Take Place in 1978, Feature Another Big Ol' Fight

Adam McKay continues to deliver tiny morsels of info on the upcoming Anchorman sequel. They aren't too far along, with McKay saying that they've got "about two per cent! Half a per cent? We've got five pages of story notes and chunks of story." But they do have some of the basics nailed down: the movie will take place in either 1978 or 1979, when "all of a sudden, local news stations diversified and had Latino anchors and African-American anchors, and any time you're talking about diversity and the Action News team, that's always fun to deal with." I agree!

McKay also mentions that they've got a couple of ideas bouncing around for another epic brawl, which is something that's as important to bring back as Ron Burgandy's moustache. Keep up the good work, fellows.

I like the news about the time period but I really wish they wouldn't do another anchor fight. What was so great about the first one was how weird and unexpected it was. McKay is great at moments like that (see also: The Rock and Samuel L. Jackson roof scene in The Other Guys). McKay and Ferrell are too talented and too funny to just repeat themselves.

I don't get it, what is so fun about an old old wooden ship?
