Jason Bateman, Zac Efron, Leslie Mann, Goldie Hawn to Play a Mourning Jewish(?) Family

This Is Where I Leave You is the story of four siblings who come back to their old home to sit shiva for their deceased father. The increasingly un-Jewish looking Bateman, Efron, and Mann are in talks to play three of these siblings and Hawn will be the mother. Jonathan Tropper, the author who wrote the original novel, is adapting the film for Adam Shankman (Rock of Ages and Hairspray) to direct. Considering Shankman's background, I expect a festive version of the Mourner's Kaddish and rip-roaring dance number where the cast saunters around the house covering mirrors.

Zac Efron is part Jewish, and he seems perfectly cast as "Youngest brother Phillip, the rock star handsome youngest sibling — "the Paul
McCartney" of the Foxman family". Sure, they could go with full-blooded Jews like Logan Lerman and Anton Yelchin, but they're too young and less famous.
