Just in Case We Weren't Excited Enough, 'The Mindy Project' Hired These Writers

Matt Warburton, who spent last year working on Community after 10 years on The Simpsons, has been named as an executive producer of The Mindy Project. Just like Robert Carlock has been doing for Tina Fey on 30 Rock, Warburton is expected to help supplement some of Kaling's showrunning duties. Joining Warburton is Community writing staff all-star Chris McKenna, writer of episodes like "Remedial Chaos Theory" and "Paradigms of Human Memory". As well, Linwood Boomer, the freaking creator of Malcolm in the Middle, will be onboard as a consulting producer and frequent Modern Family director Michael Spiller will executive produce and act as the series' main director. Lastly, B.J. Novak, who executive produced the pilot, is in discussions to stay on as a consulting producer. OOOOOOOOOO.K., we get it, The Mindy Project, you're going to be great; stop rubbing it in our faces.

There are all sorts of amazingly talented people working on this show, and now there are even more…so why did the trailer make it look absolutely unoriginal and uninspired? It looked like a show Kelly Kapoor would watch but not a show Mindy Kaling would create.
