Rory Scovel Goes on 'Conan' to Kill it, Stick it to Lunchables, and Drink Some of a Beer

Stand-ups on Conan don't have to use microphones. It's disarming at first. Without a microphone, stand-up doesn't feel like a performance as much as a guy talking while everyone looks at him. So, instead of a mic, Rory brought a beer with him. It probably helped him build the courage necessary to take on the powerful people at Lunchables. #OccupyLunchables, amirite? So crack open a Breakfastable or Brunchable and watch Rory miclessly kill it.

More disarming to me than the lack of a microphone is the sudden appearance of his southern drawl. When did that come about?

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. At first it seemed like a bit he would do at the beginning, but he never stopped.

Almost makes you trust him more with that accent.

He does that.  He talked on something once about how he did a 45 minute show in the drawl.

The lack of microphone didn't feel weird at all. Almost felt natural. If he's onstage with the stage and camera set up the way it is, I can assume it's a stand up act. It's not like I focus solely on whether they're holding a mic or not.

This is my first time seeing Rory Scovel. If what the other commenters say is true, and he usually doesn't have a southern drawl, that makes it hilarious.
