Brian McCann Is Leaving 'Conan'

In 1995, Brian McCann was hired to be a writer on Late Night with Conan O'Brien. For the next 17 (17!!!!) years, he helped define Conan's Late Night and Tonight Show and eventually Conan. John Ross Bowie writes on his blog that this is his last day with Conan. We wish him the best. Below are some videos from throughout years. Hope Deon Cole can fit in a giant, dirty candy cane suit.

It's safe to say that he went out on a high note with his Jesus bit last night. Still, it's pretty sad to see him go as he's been the last bit of truly unhinged weirdness on an otherwise bland and watered down Conan

This makes me really sad. McCann is one of my favorites in late night television history. Let's hope Brian Stack rides being on Conan into the ground. I don't know if it would be the same without McCann AND Stack. But thanks to Andre, Conan will still be weird and irreverent.

I remember he tried the Arsenio Billingham show that was on TBS for maybe a minute.

McCann and Stack played some of my favourite characters back when I still used to watch the show in 2006 (was on Cable plus you had to pay extra to get the Comedy channel in a package), I used to record it on the box I had with the cable company due to it being on so late.
