'The Office's' Justin Spitzer Sells a New Sitcom to NBC

Justin Spitzer, co-executive producer of The Office, is going to stick with NBC once that show ends after this upcoming season. He's just sold a new ensemble sitcom to the peacock, one that will be about "a group of friends whose lives change on the way to a destination wedding." Which sounds more like the plot of a movie than a sitcom, but we know that premise-heavy sitcoms often ditch said premises before too long to focus on the ensembles (see: Happy Endings). So we'll see what this ends up being like. But in any case, it's nice to see NBC hanging on to some of its creative talent instead of sending it all over to Fox.

It could be a long, 10-year trip to the wedding. You don't know.
