Scary Halloween News: Studio Wants to Film Murray-less 'Ghostbusters' Reboot This Summer

Deadline reports that Sony Pictures is planning for original Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman to film the new Ghostbusters reboot this summer (which they specifically refer to as a "reboot" and not a "sequel"). Sure, this is just the latest in a seemingly-endless string of updates on a project that's been in the works for 15 years, but the fact that the movie now has a shooting schedule is something new, and the looming destruction of the popular franchise should scare fans of the original shitless just in time for Halloween. Presumably, Reitman will be working from a script by Etan Cohen (Tropic Thunder/Idiocracy/Men in Black 3), as previously announced. Even more frightening than the Ghostbusters reboot finally setting a start date for production is that Bill Murray won't be involved, news that's more terrifying than every haunted house or Halloween maze in the country combined

They won't really be destroying a popular franchise, just destroying a popular movie and it's disappointing sequel.
