Jack Black Is Producing a Web Series Called 'Ghost Ghirls' for Yahoo

Jack Black has partnered with the production company Shine America to make Ghost Ghirls, a new Yahoo original web series, Variety reports. It's a 12-episode comedy that stars Amanda Lund and Maria Blasucci as two twentysomething ghost hunters and will feature cameos from Jake Johnson, Molly Shannon, Jason Schwartzman, and Jack Black himself. The show was in development at SyFy t be a TV series last year, but the cable channel ultimately passed on it. Created by Jeremy Konner (Drunk History), Ghost Ghirls is just the latest move in Yahoo's push towards becoming a major online comedy provider, following in the footsteps of series like Seth Morris and Funny or Die's First Dates with Toby Harris, the weekly series Sketchy, and Ken Marino and Erica Oyama's Bachelor parody Burning Love, which all debuted this year. Ghost Ghirls is set to debut this spring, and it's probably the closest thing to a new Ghostbusters movie we'll see for a while
