'Community' Ratings Drops 42% in Its Second Week

For the second episode of its new season last night, Community's ratings fell significantly after the premiere. The first new (post-Dan Harmon) episode of the season scored a 1.8 rating amongst adults 18-49, while last night's got a 1.1 – dipping 42% and falling short of 30 Rock's average (1.3) in the same timeslot this season. This was Community's lowest-ever rating in the 18-49 demographic. To be fair, though, Valentine's Day caused TV viewership on the whole to drop by 6%. Maybe watching a Halloween episode of a sitcom just isn't anyone's idea of a romantic Valentine's Day.

Coincidentally enough, I think this was the first time I didn't bother to watch, but recorded it instead. What did they expect, though, after delaying the season for so long? Halloween episode? I know it doesn't actually have to be the season or holiday in real life that you're watching on TV, but you can sense the wrongness of it somehow. I knew this was going to be its last year, but now I really know.

Surely this has to do with Valentine's Day. Real shame, I thought the episode was pretty great.

Started watching the Halloween episode. When the title sequence rolls in, I realize the banter preceding it had not sparked a single laugh, grin or even a smile. Who the hell wrote that Community is still the same show? You? Yeah, go fuck yourself.

I don't recall laughing one time at this one and don't understand how a tv show with two good looking females produces a Halloween episode and refuses to put either female in anything remotely resembling a flirtatious outfit. They have earned one meh episode, but there better be some laughs in the next one.

The ratings dropped in the demographic most likely to watch a TV show on DVR/Hulu/On-Demand…oh noes!

I hate to be that guy, but I'm kind of glad "Community" is tanking because I'm so over this show and sick and tired of it's insane fan base that thinks "Community" is the funniest thing since the invention of the joke.

The first two season were amazing, but the third season has it's head too far up its own ass to see how pretentious it had become.
