J.K. Simmons, Mike O'Malley and Cheyenne Jackson All Land Pilots

Pilot season continues, and there's been a wave of actors you may or may not know cast in potential new shows. Here they all are!

    • J.K. Simmons has been cast opposite Parker Posey in an untitled NBC comedy from Up All Night writer D.J. Nash and producer Jason Bateman. The single-camera semi-autobiographical comedy is set in the 1980s and follows a teenage son whose family comes closer together after the parents (Simmons, Posey) divorce.
    • The Office's Jake Lacy will play the lead role in CBS's single-camera comedy The McCarthys, created by Happy Endings writer Brian Gallivan and produced by Easy A director Will Gluck. It's a dysfunctional family comedy about a sports-loving Irish-Catholic family in Boston, with Jacki Weaver and Jack McGee playing the parents and Lacy playing their gay son.
    • 30 Rock's Cheyenne Jackson will star opposite Jeffrey Tambor in Amazon's pilot The Onion Presents: The News. He'll play a fast-rising young anchor who threatens the job of Tambor's grouchy veteran newsman.

  • Harry Potter's Rupert Grint will star as a fast food worker-turned-superhero in CBS's Super Clyde, from My Name Is Earl mastermind Greg Garcia.
  • Glee's Mike O'Malley booked the lead role in NBC's Welcome to the Family, about a white family and a Latino family who become intertwined when their kids have an unplanned pregnancy.
  • Minnie Driver will star opposite David Walton in NBC's adaptation of the movie About a Boy.
  • iCarly's Minnie Driver will play Christina Ricci's daughter in Girlfriend in a Coma, created by Nurse Jackie's Liz Brixius based on the book by Douglas Copeland.
