Introducing Splitsider Presents and Our First Movie Release, 'The Exquisite Corpse Project'

I'm incredibly proud to introduce Splitsider Presents, our new digital distribution label. We're going to be selling hilarious, one-of-a-kind movies, documentaries and standup specials for $5 each, right here on Splitsider. All purchases will entitle you to DRM-free HD downloads and in-browser streams, and we've built the store from the ground up in order to give the lion's share of the proceeds right to the artists and comedians responsible.

The Exquisite Corpse Project is our first release, and I couldn't be more excited about it. It's the perfect movie for us: a comedy about the process of creating comedy. Director Ben Popik gathered together his former comrades from the legendary sketch group Olde English and tasked them with writing a movie. The catch: each of the five writers wrote 15 pages and only saw the previous five pages of the script. He then shot the movie they wrote, as well as documentary footage of the writing process and all the drama that it entailed, and put them all together into one of the most unique comedies I've ever seen. And now you can see it exclusively on Splitsider Presents for only five measly bucks.

Check out the trailer below, and head on over to Splitsider Presents to purchase the full-length movie.

Olde English has been one of my favorite comedy groups for years. It's great to:
    a) see more from them.
    b) get some closure on why they're not still together.
    c) get to know each member as a distinct personality, when for so long I've known them to present one coherent brand of comedy.

The movie itself is an exciting storytelling experiment, a great case study of creative collaborative work, and really damn funny.

Splitsider Presents is off to a killer start.
