Chris Hardwick's Comedy Central Show Will Be Called '@Midnight' and It's a Game Show

Chris Hardwick revealed some new details about his upcoming Comedy Central late night show today. The comedian/podcaster tweeted this afternoon that the series will be called @Midnight and that it'll be a game show. Hardwick will be hosting live test shows at LA's NerdMelt Theater beginning next Tuesday. @Midnight is described as "a rapid-fire game show inspired by the darkest recesses of social media." It was previously announced that Funny or Die is producing the series, which has The State and Reno 911! masterminds Tom Lennon and Ben Garant serving as showrunners. @Midnight is set to premiere on Comedy Central this fall, airing at 12am (duh) Monday through Thursday after The Colbert Report. The late night game show will be going head-to-head with TBS's new late night series, an untitled post-Conan talk show hosted by Pete Holmes, which is also set to debut this fall.

Pete Holmes' show was at one point going to be titled The Midnight Show, but had to drop that name because of a UCB sketch show of the same title. Seems like just "Midnight" would have been a good replacement title…kind of odd for Hardwick to scoop it up.

Gotta go with Pete, although having Ben Garant & Tom Lennon as showrunners sounds pretty awesome.
