Rashida Jones Is Developing a CW Show Called ‘Ladyballs’
Soon-to-depart Parks and Recreation star Rashida Jones is continuing to add on more behind-the-scenes TV projects. Jones and her Celeste & Jesse Forever writing/producing partner Will McCormack are developing a new comedy-drama for The CW called Ladyballs, THR reports. Here’s the plot description:
Two twenty-something estranged friends in search of love in New York who are reunited after learning that they’ve been dating the same guy. When their plot to humiliate the two-timer goes viral, they realize the “payback” business is a lucrative one and set up a clandestine business to continue bringing down the hand of justice for those who have been wronged.
Prep School Confidential author Kara Taylor is writing the script, with Rashida Jones’s model/actress/fashion designer sister, Kidada Jones, will also produce. Rashida Jones is set to leave Parks and Rec with Rob Lowe 13 episodes into the upcoming season, but she’s doing just fine as she’s already sold this and one other show as a producer, Fox’s Stuck, since her departure was announced.
UPDATE 8/29: The show has been retitled The Revengers.
