The FCC Banned The Latest Episode of Fox's 'High School USA!'

Fox's new animated sitcom High School USA!, part of its Saturday night ADHD block, is running into trouble from the FCC. Creator Dino Stamatopoulos (Moral Orel, Community) posted on Facebook Friday, "FCC won't let us air this week's High School USA! this week. Pretty great." The episode did not air on Saturday. Titled "Best Friends Forever," the controversial episode involved teenage girl Amber (voiced by Zosia Mamet) getting upset when she learns that her mother is an amateur porn star, while her friend Marsh (voiced by Vincent Kartheiser) tries to get the two of them to make peace. Stamatopoulos added that if the episode airs (presumably with some stuff taken out), it will be with High School USA!'s next run of episodes in six weeks.

Of course, Dino Stamatopoulos is no stranger to this kind of censorship, as there has now been a banned episode of every show he's ever created. His first, Adult Swim's Moral Orel, had three episodes from its first season held back for months by Standards and Practices due to crude sexual content and being too dark. His other show, Mary Shelley's Frankenhole, has a Mother Teresa episode that has never aired due to obscenity.

Although it didn't air, the offending episode was put on Hulu and you can watch it below:

The FCC doesn't "ban" things from airing. That's called "prior restraint." It's not ever been part of what the FCC does. It's unconstitutional. The FCC doesn't review tv shows before they air, that would be impossible to implement. If Fox is holding the episode back because they are afraid of the FCC acting on complaints from the public or from the public outcry itself, that is not nearly the same thing.

Not only that, but the FCC doesn't police anything on after 10pm. 10pm-6am is considered a "safe harbor" for "indecent" material. So, even if someone complained, the FCC wouldn't be able to act.

This is why there is so much misinformation in the world because retards like the author of this article don't know how to properly research before writing and publishing an article and even worse the editors and publishers of this website just let the information go without a correction or retraction of the bad data. It is also why people outside the U.S. think so low of Americans and consider us nothing more then a bunch of Illiterate dumbasses.

watched the episode, wow controversy is sure easy, I could see it was a little more over the top than the other episodes but not to the point of pulling it entirely some people are just way too easy to shock apparently.
