Watch Rare Footage from Jerry Lewis’s ‘The Day the Clown Cried’

Here’s some rare “making of” footage from The Day the Clown Cried, the Jerry Lewis-directed 1972 movie in which he starred as a clown in a concentration camp who leads Jewish children to their deaths. The movie has never been released. “You will never see it, no-one will ever see it, because I am embarrassed at the poor work,” Lewis said about the film at Cannes this year. This might be the only footage from the movie we ever get to see, so enjoy.
