This Week in Comedy: A Sitcom Cancellation Bloodbath

In case you missed it, here's all the big comedy stuff that happened this week:

-The major networks started putting together their fall schedules, and in the process, canceled a whole ton of comedies. ABC got rid of Trophy Wife, Mixology, Super Fun Night, The Neighbors, and Suburgatory, NBC axed Community and Growing Up Fisher, and Fox put at end to Dads, Surviving Jack, and Enlisted.

-Louie returned after a year and a half off with two solid episodes. Maron and Comedy Bang! Bang! debuted their new seasons as well.

-Adult Swim ordered a pilot for a werewolf hunter comedy created by and starring Jon Glaser and a Triumph the Insult Comic Dog/Jack McBrayer buddy series. We made a videolist of Triumph's proudest moments.

-We take a look at freshman SNL writer Leslie Jones's first "Weekend Update" appearance, and the sudden backlash her appearance received.

-Billy Eichner and Julie Klausner are starring in and creating a USA show together, TBS ordered 10 episodes of Angie Tribeca, a Rashida Jones detective comedy co-created by Steve Carell; a new Muppets TV show is in the works, Fox ordered 10 more episodes of Mulaney, and NBC gave a series order to Casey Wilson/Ken Marino comedy Marry Me from Happy Endings creator David Caspe.

-We profiled Norm Macdonald as a potential Late Late Show replacement.

-We made a guide to all the comedy movies and TV shows premiering this summer.

 -Comedy Central released the full schedule for their 2014 Half Hour specials, featuring Kurt Braunohler, Chris Gethard, and more.

-Will Ferrell and Adam McKay are producing an animated Flintstones movie, and Rebel Wilson is starring in a Private Benjamin remake.

-We reviewed the output of Pandora Comedy.

-We recommended the week's best podcasts and the Twitter feed of Dave Horwitz. and talk with Esther Povitsky, creator of the hilarious web series Esther with Hot Chicks.
