Ben Stiller Says He’s “Actively” Working on a ‘Zoolander’ Sequel
The last time Ben Stiller gave an update on a possible Zoolander sequel was when he called it “on hold” back in December, but according to Variety, the project has gone back to being an actively in-the-works sequel. While answering questions at the Taormina Film Festival recently, Stiller was asked whether Zoolander 2 will ever happen and assured fans that his production company Red Hour Films is “actively” working on a rewrite of the script: “I can’t say that it’s actually a reality yet, but I hope some day it is,” he said. “It’s been about 10 years now. It’s going to be old Derek Zoolander.”
In December, Stiller said that there was a script he liked, “but I don’t want to force it, because people who love that movie really love it, so I want to make sure we do the sequel the right way.” Hopefully Stiller’s careful approach to doing the Zoolander sequel pays off with a decent movie and a look that blows Blue Steel out of the water.
