‘Transparent’ and ‘Jane the Virgin’ Break Records at the Golden Globes

fey_cho_poehler_goldenglobesThe Golden Globes aired on NBC last night, and in the world of comedy, freshman hits Transparent and Jane the Virgin took home some history-making awards. Amazon’s Transparent became the first online show to win a Best TV Series Globe, while Jane the Virgin star Gina Rodriguez took home the award for Best Actress in a TV Series, Comedy in a surprise win over Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Taylor Schilling, Lena Dunham, and Edie Falco, making it CW’s first-ever Globe win.
