Danny Pudi to Star in NBC Pilot ‘Strange Calls’
Community’s Danny Pudi might return to NBC soon. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Pudi has signed on to star in NBC’s adaptation of Australian comedy-horror series Strange Calls, which the network ordered to pilot last month. Pudi will play Toby, “an affable but down on his luck young police officer who is transferred to a rural town where — with the help of a peculiar, elderly night watchman — he starts to realize the town has a bizarre supernatural underbelly.” Patrick Brammall will reprise his role from the Australian series as Sergeant Lloyd. Cougar Town‘s Blake McCormack will write the script, and Modern Family‘s Jason Winer will direct the pilot.
