Writers from ‘The Simpsons,’ ‘Roseanne,’ ‘Reno 911!’ and More Share Their Favorite Moments
Buzzfeed has a fun piece out today called “51 Writers Reveal The Favorite TV Moment They’ve Ever Written,” and among the responses are tons of great scenes from comedy series like Portlandia, Roseanne, Reno 911!, Parks and Recreation, Jane the Virgin, Modern Family, and more. Simpsons writer Andrew Kreisberg’s favorite moment actually never made it into an episode:
One of my first staff jobs was on The Simpsons. We needed a throwaway line for Ralph Wiggum. I had started only the week before but I pitched he should be dancing around holding his crotch when he says, “I have to go number three.” It got a big laugh in the room and got in the script. It was actually animated but ultimately got cut for time. It didn’t matter to me because I got a lot of talented writers I admired to laugh.
The collection also has responses from Mike Schur, Fred Armisen, Lennon Parham, Jessica St. Clair, Natasha Leggero, Bill Lawrence, and tons more, not to mention a lengthy look back from Andy Daly on the “15 Pancakes” and “30 Pancakes” segments from his Comedy Central series Review.
