Belushi, Flaherty, Ramis, and Fisher Play an All-American Football Team at Second City in 1972

Welcome to The Second City Archives, in which we post an exclusive clip each week of some of comedy’s biggest superstars performing early in their careers on the legendary Chicago stage. Second City has generously given us a glimpse into their extensive archive of live performances, and over the coming weeks we’ll be sharing some rare and retro comedy never before seen on the web.

Get ready for another football season with some vintage Second City: This week’s clip comes from the 1972 revue directed by Del Close 43rd Parallel or McCabre & Ms. Miller featuring ensemble performers John Belushi, Jim Fisher, Judy Morgan, Joe O’Flaherty, Eugenie Ross-Leming, and Harold Ramis. In the above sketch, Belushi, Fisher, Flaherty, and Ramis are football players on the 1972 All-American Team that can rewind and switch to slow-mo instant replay on command. Check out another clip from the revue starring Belushi, Ramis, and Flaherty here.
