Mike O’Brien Is Releasing a Sketch Comedy Album Called ‘Tasty Radio’ This Month
Mike O’Brien might have officially left the SNL writing staff over the summer, but that doesn’t mean we won’t see — or in this case, hear — more of his original sketches. According to Entertainment Weekly, Comedy Dynamics is releasing a sketch comedy album by O’Brien called Tasty Radio, which is “meant to give the listener the feeling of scrolling through channels on a radio.” Each channel will be another sketch by O’Brien, and the album features a ton of SNL guests like Bill Hader, Fred Armisen, Jason Sudeikis, Vanessa Bayer, Seth Meyers, and John Mulaney, plus some non-SNL guests like Scarlett Johansson.
“I’ve been a fan of sketch comedy albums since high school, when I first heard Adam Sandler’s albums,” O’Brien told EW on the project. “I remember times where [my friends and I] would be early to a movie or we just had nothing to do in Toledo on a Friday night and we’d sit in a parking lot of Taco Bell and listen to Sandler’s albums in a car, dying laughing and doing the voices.” Tasty Radio will be available on Friday, October 30th through Comedy Dynamics; check out a preview clip from the album over at EW featuring the voices of Vanessa Bayer, Bill Hader, Nasim Pedrad, Cecily Strong, and Fred Armisen.
