Celebrate the Holidays the Polish Way with Second City’s Kevin Dorff, Stephnie Weir, and More
Welcome to The Second City Archives, in which we post an exclusive clip each week of some of comedy’s biggest superstars performing early in their careers on the legendary Chicago stage. Second City has generously given us a glimpse into their extensive archive of live performances, and over the coming weeks we’ll be sharing some rare and retro comedy never before seen on the web.
Christmas season has officially arrived, so to help prepare you for your family and friends’ strangest holiday traditions, Second City unearthed this great clip from the 1999 revue The Second City 4.0 featuring ensemble performers Kevin Dorff, T.J. Jagodowski, Susan Messing, Ed Furman, Tami Sagher, Rich Talarico, and Stephnie Weir. There are plenty of weird holiday customs out there, but this scene makes a compelling case that the Polish ones are the weirdest. Spoiler alert: Potatoes are involved.
