Funny or Die Hires Former Obama Speechwriter David Litt
Funny or Die just scored the perfect new hire for their Washington DC office. According to The New York Times, David Litt — who left his job as a speechwriter for President Obama last month — has accepted a job at Funny or Die’s Washington location. In a press release, Funny or Die revealed that Litt will work as head writer and producer of Funny or Die DC.
Litt started working in the White House in 2011, where he served as a special assistant to the president, senior political speechwriter, and lead joke writer for the last four Correspondents’ Dinners. Described as “the comic muse for the president,” he’s currently working on a book about the experience called That Hopey, Changey Thing. In addition to his work at the White House, Litt has written for The Onion and McSweeney’s and has performed standup as well as improv.
