Jemaine Clement’s New Podcast ‘The Mysterious Secrets of Uncle Bertie’s Botanarium’ Premieres Next Month

jemaine_clementFlight of the Conchords’ Jemaine Clement has a brand new podcast premiering on premium subscription service Howl next month. Titled The Mysterious Secrets of Uncle Bertie’s Botanarium, the scripted podcast stars Clement as Lord Joseph Banks and is written and produced by Duncan Sarkies, James Milne, and Stephen Templer. Here’s more from what we can expect from the podcast:

Moving between the sublime and the ridiculous, The Mysterious Secrets of Uncle Bertie’s Botanarium is a fictional account of a sea voyage set in a parallel universe that references the historical expedition of British botanist Joseph Banks to New Zealand in the 1700s. On the perilous journey, Banks and his crew encounter treacherous butterflies, plant-worshipping religious zealots, boiling oceans, cannibalistic sausages and perhaps even Uncle Bertie himself.

Howl hasn’t yet announced an official premiere date for the podcast, but it’s expected to launch sometime in mid-March.
