Bashir Salahuddin to Star in Hulu Comedy Pilot ‘Crushed’
Former Late Night with Jimmy Fallon writer Bashir Salahuddin is headed to Hulu. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Salahuddin has signed on to costar alongside Regina Hall in the comedy pilot Crushed, which the streaming network ordered back in January. The project centers on two siblings Will and Celia, who “challenge the Napa Valley culture. As the only African American winery in town, they attempt to transform their parents abandoned vineyard into a business.” Hall will play Celia and Salahuddin will play Will, “a chemist and Harvard med school drop-out who goes off the grid squatting at his parents’ abandoned Napa property until his sister, Celia, persuades him to use his knowledge to help her build a legit winery.” Salahuddin and his writing partner Diallo Riddle also had a pilot in the works at HBO last year, which the network ultimately did not order to series.
