Trevor Noah Explains Why America Needs to Elect Its Own Mascot This November

Here’s a clip from last night’s Daily Show, where Trevor Noah recaps the presidential candidates’ recent visits to New York City and points out that most of the news coverage of their NYC campaign stops focuses more on them eating food and making bad jokes rather than talking issues. “I think this is the problem America finds itself in,” Noah says. “Voters need a brilliant policy mind who can address serious problems, but at the same time, Americans just kinda want a leader who’s a fun best friend. And I get that. But maybe we shouldn’t demand that these two be the same person. And that’s why we here at The Daily Show have a suggestion: This November, America must elect both a president and a mascot.”
