TBS Orders a ‘Drop the Mic’ Series from James Corden and Ben Winston

latelateshow_cordenJames Corden’s “Drop the Mic” rap battle segment from The Late Late Show is turning into its own show at TBS. According to Variety, the network has ordered a Drop the Mic series from Corden, Late Late Show showrunner Ben Winston, and Jensen Karp. Corden will not appear on the show, and a host has not yet been announced. Drop the Mic makes the second Late Late Show segment to get the TV treatment following “Carpool Karaoke,” which has an official TV show in the works at Apple and unofficial show, Caraoke Showdown, in the works at Spike with host Craig Robinson. The 16-episode Drop the Mic series will debut on TBS sometime next year.
