Seth Meyers Takes “A Closer Look” at How Trump’s Presidency Will Affect Climate Change

During last night’s Late Night, Seth Meyers debuted a new “Closer Look” segment to break down what, exactly, having a president who believes climate change is a hoax created by China means for the environment’s future, especially when said president chooses people like fracking supporter and oil and gas company buddy Scott Pruitt to head up the EPA and Rick Perry — who is replacing a line of world-renowned physicists — as the new Secretary of Energy. “Maybe the worst thing about the Trump administration’s climate agenda is that they’ll have a compliant Republican Congress ready and willing to kowtow to the oil and gas lobby,” Meyers says. “The climate situation may well be dire under a Trump administration, which is why we need to keep bringing attention to it. It’s literally life or death.”
