Amy Poehler, H. Jon Benjamin, and John Roberts Developing ‘Edison’ HBO Comedy

poehler_roberts_benjaminThe voice behind Linda Belcher has a semi-autobiographical comedy in the works at HBO. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the network has put into development a dark musical comedy starring John Roberts (Bob’s Burgers) called Edison. Based on Roberts’s life, the show follows “a 40-year-old real estate broker who dreams of living life in the big city but remains stuck in his small hometown of Edison, New Jersey,” and Roberts co-wrote the script with H. Jon Benjamin. The two are attached as executive producers alongside Amy Poehler and her production company Paper Kite, which is also behind Broad City, Difficult People, and ABC’s Household Name pilot starring Carol Burnett.
