‘GLOW’ Starring Alison Brie and Marc Maron Premieres on Netflix in June

Last year, Netflix ordered a new show from Jenji Kohan based on the ’80s female wrestling show GLOW (Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling), and today the streaming network dropped the first teaser as well as the premiere date. Alison Brie stars in the series as Ruth Wilder, “an out-of-work actress who finds one last attempt to live her dreams in the form of a weekly series about female wrestlers.” Marc Maron and Betty Gilpin also star in the series — Maron plays “a washed-up Hollywood director who has a very complicated history with women — and now must lead 14 of them on the journey to wrestling stardom,” and Gilpin plays “a former soap star who left show business to have a baby, only to be sucked back in when her picture-perfect life is not what it seems.” The series hits Netflix Friday, June 23rd.
