Seth Meyers Takes “A Closer Look” at James Comey’s Testimony

Here’s a clip from last night’s Late Night, where Seth Meyers takes “A Closer Look” at yesterday’s testimony by fired FBI Director James Comey, Trump’s response, Trump’s lawyer’s response on behalf of the “predisent,” and the Republicans’ refusal to acknowledge the mounting evidence of obstruction of justice. During the hearing, Comey revealed that he wrote detailed memos of his meetings with Trump because he was concerned he’d lie about them later: “That’s the FBI Director — a guy who has dealt with liars and criminals his whole life — walking out of his first meeting with the president and thinking ‘I gotta write this shit down,’” Meyers says. “Now, if it feels to you like there weren’t any new bombshells today, that’s because we are already surrounded by previous bombshells. Our capacity to be shocked has already been so worn down by the Trump presidency. He’s like your druggie cousin who can no longer surprise you.”
