The Second and Final Season of ‘Vice Principals’ Premieres on HBO in September

DannyMcBrideWaltonGogginsVicePrincipalsHBO just revealed the premiere date for the second season of Danny McBride and Jody Hill’s Vice Principals. The network announced today that the show will return for season 2 on Sunday, September 17th at 10:30pm. Here’s the logline for the new season:

The tumultuous school year at North Jackson High continues and a new semester brings lots of changes. Gamby and Russell are about to learn that the only thing harder than gaining power is holding on to it, as the darkest comedy on television returns to finish what was started.

Last year, McBride revealed that he and Hill plan to end the show after season 2. “The whole series is only 18 episodes and that’s it. We just wanted to make a really long movie. It’s one school year and a complete story,” he told Variety. “This was an old screenplay that Jody [Hill] and I wrote back in 2006. But we needed it to be longer so we added and reworked it and broke it up into 18 segments.” For more on the show, read our interview with Hill here, and check out a promo for the new season below:
