Fox Developing Live Interactive Comedy Series ‘Immediate Family’

fox-logoFox is getting experimental with the multi-cam sitcom format. According to Deadline, the network is developing a live, multi-cam family comedy by New Girl co-executive producers Dave Finkel and Brett Baer called Immediate Family. On top of being live, the series also will have an interactive element and include participation from the audience. It will center on “a real-life hero who’s convinced he’s the only one who can keep his super-diverse, super screwed-up family from falling apart. He might be alone on that.” Thomas Kail (Grease: Live, Hamilton) is attached to direct the project, which has been given a script plus penalty commitment by Fox.
