Amber Ruffin Warns Donald Trump: “You Cannot Win a Twitter War Against Black People”

Here’s a clip from last night’s Late Night, where Seth Meyers takes “A Closer Look” at how Trump chose to spend the weekend attacking athletes turning down invitations to the White House and protesting police brutality during the national anthem instead of dealing with important issues like tensions with North Korea and the devastation in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria. Later in the segment, Meyers welcomes writer Amber Ruffin who, like the athletes, uses her platform to speak out on the issue of racial injustice in America and also deliver a helpful warning for Trump. “Fool! You cannot win a Twitter war against black people. What is wrong with you?” she says. “Let me be clear about what is happening here: Trump is trying to make sure to let black people know that if we don’t fall in line, we will be punished. Well guess what? If slavery didn’t break us, this idiot certainly can’t, you raggedy fool.”
