Comedy Central Extends Trevor Noah’s Contract Through 2022
Trevor Noah is sticking around at Comedy Central for at least five more years. The network announced today that it’s extended Noah’s contract at the network through 2020, which includes his job hosting The Daily Show as well as year-end Daily Show specials starting this year: “The Daily Show will no longer take for granted that humankind has made it to another December 31st and from here on out will celebrate in annual year-end specials,” the network explained. Here’s what Noah said on the news:
I’m thrilled to be continuing this amazing journey with both fans of The Daily Show and Comedy Central. It’s really exciting to renew this contract for either five more years or until Kim Jong Un annihilates us all–whichever one comes first.
Earlier this week, John Oliver’s HBO show also got a triple-season renewal, which will keep it on the air through 2020.
