Jonathan Levine and Kenya Barris Are Working on a ‘Coming to America’ Sequel

coming-to-americaA sequel to the 1988 Eddie Murphy comedy Coming to America is in the works at Paramount. According to Variety, the studio has hired Black-ish creator Kenya Barris to rewrite the script by original writers Barry Blaustein and David Sheffield, and Jonathan Levine (50/50, Warm Bodies, Snatched) is attached to direct. While Eddie Murphy is involved in the development of the sequel, there’s reportedly “no deal in place yet for him to star” in the movie.
