Co-Head Writers Sarah Schneider and Chris Kelly Have Left ‘SNL’
Saturday Night Live added three new cast members and seven new writers for season 43, but one of the biggest changes at the show wasn’t revealed until shortly before Saturday’s season premiere aired. According to Deadline, Sarah Schneider and Chris Kelly have officially left the show this season, and going forward, Bryan Tucker and Kent Sublette will continue to serve as co-head writers. While this is bad news for fans of Schneider and Kelly’s fantastic work on SNL, it’s good news for fans who’d like to see the two get their very own TV show on Comedy Central. Deadline’s report says their pilot at the network has not received a series order yet, but “its prospects look good.” Schneider and Kelly both joined the writing staff in 2011 and were promoted to co-head writers last year.
