Judd Apatow and Conan O’Brien Talk ‘The Zen Diaries of Garry Shandling’

Here’s a clip from Judd Apatow’s appearance on last night’s Conan, where he and O’Brien chat about his two-part, four-hour documentary The Zen Diaries of Garry Shandling premiering on HBO next week. The two swap Shandling stories, including the time he had a near-death experience, his work on The Larry Sanders Show, and the time he called O’Brien after he got his late night hosting gig despite having been passed over for the job. “After I got the Late Night spot, he got on the phone with me and talked to me, and I just couldn’t believe it,” O’Brien says. “He couldn’t have been a nicer guy.”
