Seth MacFarlane to Direct and Star in His First Western

Hot on the heels of his first movie, Ted, becoming a box office smash, Seth MacFarlane is going to be starring in his first live action movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter. MacFarlane is planning to star in and direct A Million Ways to Die in the West, from a script he co-wrote with Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild, who also wrote Ted with him. The movie is said to be in the vein of Blazing Saddles and will use contemporary humor to score laughs from how hard it was to live in the Old West. Adam Sandler is Finally Making a Western

Adam Sandler's next movie will be Ridiculous 6, a comedy western he just sold to Paramount. Sandler will be writing the script with his old partner-in-crime, Tim Herlihy, according to Deadline. Herlihy began working with Sandler on SNL and wrote some of his most beloved comedies with him, including Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, and Big Daddy. The plot is still being kept under wraps, but Ridiculous 6 is confirmed to be a comedy western, and the title recalls the classic western The Magnificent Seven. Kurt Braunohler and Kristen Schaal’s Hot Tub Will Follow Them from NY to LA

The last-ever NYC edition of Kurt Braunohler and Kristen Schaal’s long-running variety show Hot Tub was held last night with Eugene Mirman and James Adomian (it apparently ended “with a dude juggling knives on a unicycle and then a class photo”), but Braunohler and Schaal are hoping to transplant the show to Los Angeles, their new home. Dust off those resumes, West Coast-based knife-juggling unicyclists!
