
Montreal-based comedy festival Just For Laughs announced the lineup for its 2013 gathering yesterday, which will mark the event's 30th anniversary. Sarah Silverman, Seth Meyers, Joan Rivers, Eddie Izzard, Taran Killam & Bobby Moynihan, Nick Kroll, Amy Schumer, Colin Quinn, Colin Mochrie & Brad Sherwood, Kristen Schaal, Bo Burnham, Hannibal Buress, Danny Bhoy, Marc Maron, Pete Holmes, Tig Notaro, Maria Bamford, Judah Friedlander, Scott Adsit & John Lutz, and Brian Posehn will be taking the tage from July 18th to the 27th, alongside tons of more comedians. Austin-based film/music/comedy festival South by Southwest (or SXSW as the cool kids call it) just announced its comedy lineup, running from 3/9 to 3/16, and it's jam-packed with most of the funniest people going. There are live shows from Comedy Bang Bang, the UCB, Burning Love, The Chris Gethard Show, James Adomian, The Creek and the Cave, and a screening of Marc Maron's upcoming IFC show Maron, plus appearances from Sarah Silverman, Michael Cera, Fred Armisen, Tim & Eric, and a ton more comedians and live tapings of most of the big podcasts. The Sundance Film Festival announced its 2013 lineup this week, and two new comedies from noted comedy duos will be making their world premieres at Sundance's Park City at Midnight program: Ass Backwards, written by Casey Wilson and June Diane Raphael, and Hell Baby, written and directed by Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant. Both feature tons of talented comedy folk on both sides of the camera and look pretty awesome. The Montreal Just For Laughs Festival has been around for 30 years, or, one year longer than this year’s Rising Comedy Star of the Year recipient, Hannibal Buress, has been alive.
