Pre-Order DC Pierson's New Book Now and He'll Rap about You

DC "The Son of the Piers" Pierson aka the member of Derrick Comedy with the most total hair has finished his second novel, entitled Crap Kingdom. He explained the book thusly:

THE CHOSEN ONE MUST BE RETRIEVED FROM EARTH

HE WILL BRING DOWN THE WALL AND RESTORE THE KINGDOM TO GLORY

HIS NAME IS TOM PARKING

With this mysterious yet oddly ordinary-looking prophecy, Tom’s fate is sealed: he’s been plucked from his life and whisked away to a magical kingdom to be its Chosen One.

There’s just one problem: The kingdom SUCKS.

When Tom turns down the job of Chosen One, he thinks he’s making a smart decision. [...]

Comedians Be Writing Memoirs

For the New York Times, Jason Zinoman writes about the post-Bossypants world of comedian memoirs, which I assume is in honor of the recently launched Splitsider Comedy Book Club. Mentioned are the new-ish books by Mindy Kaling, Rachel Dratch, Lizz Winstead, and Michael Ian Black. Zinoman argues they very in their balance of humor and candidness, but generally everyone loves Amy Poehler. The publisher, Belly Kids, advises to "Smudge between the lines, fill the sexy man up," but you know Murray is more of a color outside the lines cat. You can [...]

New Chris Elliott Autobiography Out in October

Chris Elliott has written an unauthorized biography about himself that is described as a "behind-the-scenes memoir so personal, so provocative, that Elliott nearly sued himself to halt publication." Entitled, The Guy Under the Sheets, this is Elliott's fourth mostly fictional biography. The perfect jacket, however, does exclaim the book is "(practically) TRUE!" which might make it the most true of his books. It comes out on October 11th but you can pre-order it today. This shocking, sultry, damp book will make a great gift for… Halloween(?).
